Writing editorial-style is my favorite.
I’ve written blogs for a variety of different industries, some in my professional roles and others as a freelancer.
The Allergy Insider blog — powered by my team at Thermo Fisher Scientific — presented a unique set of challenges in how to communicate concisely and effectively in an industry that operates with heavy amounts of regulation. Everything I wrote had to go through several rounds of approval processes before we could publish, so it was essential to fully understand the regulations at play in order to support an efficient workflow.

As a UK Writing Correspondent, I was given quite a bit of freedom to write what I felt like impacted my life most as an American living abroad. I covered a variety of topics, from how to travel safely to takes on cultural differences to supporting mental health while coping with the challenges that come with living, studying, and working abroad.
Launch Mini, a faith-based ministry who specializes in the intersect of faith and career development, approached me and asked me to write a series on interviewing. I had recently started my job with Thermo Fisher Scientific, but I used an experience I had with another organization as the grounding point for the series. In this series, I shared the true story of being told in an interview that I was unqualified for the job that I was applying for to - just two weeks later - being offered that very position. I used this story to develop the themes of how to handle difficult interviews and how to shine as an applicant.
