My professional background

American Fuel & Petrochemical Manufacturers

For the past three and a half years, I’ve honed my skills in social media management, email marketing, project management, writing and more at one of the leading advocacy groups in DC. Over any given year, I managed six event marketing campaigns that have brought in seven-figure profits, developed major reports covering sustainability in oil and gas, strategized and excuted unique strategies for four social media platforms, was the primary liason for several consultants to develop effective storytelling on behalf of our members, and facilitated industry groups for experts in sustainability to learn and grow from one another. I’m pretty proud of my work here. Ask me all about it.

Thermo Fisher Scientific

I spent one year as a Global Digital Marketing Intern Strategist with Thermo Fisher Scientific. While I worked there, I spent quality time digging into Adobe software, including Illustrator, Photoshop, and AEM. I also managed seven different social media channels across six different regions of the world.

Cintas

After my first year of undergraduate studies, I spent the summer working as an IT intern, cleaning data and consolidating customer information after a major acquisition. How is this useful with my PR degree? This experience gives me the unique, strong foundation in data analytics as well as taught me the ins and outs of different kinds of software, primarily Microsoft Excel and Access. The learning curve challenged my adaptability and the work pushed my attention to detail.

Instinctif Partners

During my time abroad, I gained agency experience at one of the top agencies in the UK. Having spent time writing press releases, studying news cycles, developing event pitches for clients, as well as creating content for clients’ social media, I learned the ropes of strategic content development from the best in the business. I also utilized my expertise in IT to develop databases for the agency for both journalist connections as well as client information.

IES Abroad

During my six months studying and living in London (and working at Instinctif Partners), I was also working as the UK Writing Correspondent for IES Abroad, the organization that ran my study abroad program. I put my writing skills to the test to create content that resonated with my audience. This journalist perspective on strategic communication expanded my methodology as well as helped me to understand how to work with journalists as a PR professional.
